Ne voulant pas "hacker" le post sur les Bernardi, j'ai parti celui-ci...

J'ai eu la chance de voir la voiture ci-dessous, en personne, à l'exposition au Domaine LaBonté 2010..

Pas beaucoup d'information en français sur le sujet...

Fiberfab was a kit car manufacturer founded by Warren "Bud" Goodwin in 1964. They got their start building street rod parts and body panels for Mustangs before moving on to kit cars. The Jamaican was fitted to a TR3, TR4, MGA, Austin-Healey or a Volkswagen Beetle. Later Fiberfab built their own 'Jamaican' chassis for use with a V8 power-plant. Fiberfab made a Ford GT40 replica based on a VW Beetle floorpan called Avenger GT and the similar Valkyrie designed to take a V8. Fiberfab built custom vehicles that appeared in the film THX 1138. The company was purchased by Classic Motor Carriages in 1983.

The Avenger GT was a car designed and manufactured, in the United States of America, primarily in the 1960s and early 1970s. The car was manufactured by Fiberfab, a company founded by Warren "Bud" Goodwin and was the successor to the Fiberfab Aztec. The car was styled to resemble the Ford GT, of racing fame in the 1960s, often referred to as the GT40.

The Avenger GT came in two models, the Avenger GT-12, and the Avenger GT-15. The GT-12, was designed to be assembled by the owner, using parts salvaged from other cars, most often, a Volkswagen Beetle. The GT-15, was similar, but utilized a tube frame chassis, designed to accept suspension and drivetrain components for a Chevrolet Corvair.

These cars had a big sister, known as the Fiberfab Valkyrie. The Valkyrie was styled similarly, with the most obvious difference being a somewhat shortened rear end on the body. Since the Corvair and the Beetle, where rear engined, the body needed to be a bit longer. The Valkryie, however, was designed to be powered by a mid-engined V8 engine.

J'ai vu un kit comme la rouge à vendre sur LesPacs à 1800$ pendant environ 2 ans... Soit il l'a vendu, soit il s'est découragé.

Il y a quelque anner il y avais un fiero monter comme une ferari a trois rivieres

Pour ce qui est de l'Avenger, le compagnie existe encore, juste a chercher Fiberfab sur internet

Je sais que je suis en retard en rapport au sujet mais j'amerais savoir si c'est toi qui a pris la photo de l'avenger gt-40 rouge et si oui à quel endroit.

Habituellement, je ne met que mes photos sur le site, donc OUI c'est moi qui est pris ces photos !

Endroit = Sorel-tracy Domaine labonté lors de leur exposition annuel, section flea market

pas vraiment mon genre dutout mais j'apprends et la rouge la couleur est hot!!!

l avenger semble bien etre un kit car d apres l article mentione.

Non seulement la Bernardi etait un pseudo kit car, comme je l' ai explique en long et en large dans le forum sur la Bernardi, mais la Avenger gt est aussi un de ces nombreux kit cars des annees 70, montes sur des chassis et avec une mecanique de volkswagen beatle. Ce sont des modeles spectaculaires qui font de tres belles photos, mais ca reste des kit cars, des imitations cheap de voitures exotiques. En parlant de kit cars, allez voir sur e-bay. Il y a presentement une invader Gt a vendre, avec un video qui l' accompagne. Tres beau modele. Mais conduire une telle bebelle releve du masochisme total. La voiture shake de partout et le toit est tellement bas que la tete du conducteur depasse de deux pouces

Voici une liste tres incomplete de kit-cars des annees 60-70 et debut 80 ; Bradley gt, Chaparral, Aztec7, Invader gt, Manta Merage & Manta Montage, Matula Talon, Kelmark gt, Consulier GTP, Chimo ( fabriquee a Ottawa) , American Fibrecraft Aquila, Fiberfab Avenger gt, Valkyrie & Jamaican, Marcotte Vision, Magnum gt, Marauder, Seltzer Willow, Quincy-Lynn tri-magnum & Firearo ( 3 roues ), Vopar Vokaro, Westchester Corvarri, MCburnie Daytona spider & California Daytona spider ( repliques de Ferrari 365 GTB daytona spider ) , dans la meme famille ou tres proches parents ; Cimbria, Cimbria SS, Viper 2000, Eagle SS ( angleterre ) & Bernardi ( quebec ), tres proches parents ; Nova ( Angleterre ) , Sterling ( USA) , Sovran, Bremen Sebring . La plupart de ces kits etaient montes sur des chassis de Volkswagen, avec des moteurs Volks ou, plus rarement, des moteurs porsche. Quelques-uns etaient montes sur des chassis & une mecanique de Chevrolet Corvair. L' arrivee de la pontiac Fiero, dans les annees 80, a revolutionne le monde du kit-car americain.
